It think a next release can be a normal release.
That does not change the fact that still many
(most) people use 2.0 and 2.0 development should 
be continued.
My personal opinion is that 2.2 and 2.0 are
addressed to different users. 2.0 is working
very fine like a simple proxy (IP-IP gateway)
and 2.2 is for those who need RAS and gatekeeper
interconnection.
