another question, if I have a parent GK with endpoint proxying gws, i could setup the parent to send stuff i wanted proxied to the proxies, and stuff i didnt want proxied i could route normally to thier ultimate destination GK or GW?

Currently, only a round robin policy is supported. You configure
proxies just like a normal gatkeeper, but you want to disable
authentication and accounting probably (and perform it on the master
gk or somewhere else).

Can the hunting be setup to route calls to the most idle proxy? A less
powerful machine could be used as the Gk master correct? no need for
dual opterons and 4GB ram there correct? i like this idea. its simple
and scalable. How would i setup the proxies as just endpoint proxies and
not have thier own Gk process on them (that is what you meant earlier
correct?)
