Hello ,
 well i tried to do -J-Xmx256m .. but it did not help. this is what i did :

[root@localhost ~]# java -J-Xmx256m
Unrecognized option: -J-Xmx256m
Could not create the Java virtual machine.
 is the syntax right... i was not sure i actually tried with javac
also ... i did this ;

[root@localhost ~]# javac -J-Xmx256m
Usage: javac <options> <source files>
where possible options include:
  -g                         Generate all debugging info
  -g:none                    Generate no debugging info
  -g:{lines,vars,source}     Generate only some debugging info
  -nowarn                    Generate no warnings
  -verbose                   Output messages about what the compiler is doing
  -deprecation               Output source locations where deprecated
APIs are used
  -classpath <path>          Specify where to find user class files
and annotation processors
  -cp <path>                 Specify where to find user class files
and annotation processors
  -sourcepath <path>         Specify where to find input source files

  -source <release>          Provide source compatibility with specified release
  -target <release>          Generate class files for specific VM version
  -version                   Version information
  -help                      Print a synopsis of standard options
  -Akey[=value]              Options to pass to annotation processors
  -X                         Print a synopsis of nonstandard options
  -J<flag>                   Pass <flag> directly to the runtime system

 actually i am new to linux, so i do not knw much bout this... i need
to install classpath 95 for jikesrvm 2.9.1... i actualy tried to
change the script in /usr/bin/ecj.... but the file does not exist
neither did i find /lib/Makefile's JCOMPLIERS... i have been trying to
resolve this from past 2 weeks and i have been unsuceesful...
 i am using fedora core 6, i have jdk1.6 and classpath 95... if u need
any other details let me know
