WARNING FOR VM DEVELOPERS: UPCOMING BREAKING VM LAYER CHANGE

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi all,

I've just merged in Nicholas' work on the instrumentation classes
from the generics branch. At present, all code is in there but it
isn't yet called (there's a modification to ClassLoader that makes this
change).

I plan to make this final change in about a week's time. Note that
when this happens, the VM's implementation of VMClassLoader will need
to provide an implementation of defineClassesWithTransformers, even if
it does nothing. This can currently be seen in the reference version.

Let me know ASAP if this is a problem. This code has been present on
the generics branch for a few months, so you may have already
implemented this.

Thanks,
