The packages in Ubuntu 14.04 is a mix of pieces from 3.6 to 3.10.

The best solution would be to get an update from the same place where
you got the 3.12 updates. Hopefully whoever made that package will
provide an updated package, but you might have to ping them about it.

If that's not happening then building Evolution from source is another
alternative. You might have to install a number of development packages.
Running 'apt-get build-dep evolution' should hopefully be enough. A tool
like jhbuild can also help with this.
