  AIUI xorg.conf is generally no longer needed. Try renaming it and
restarting. Without the conf file, the X system should probe for
graphics hardware capabilities.
  Another consideration is if your graphics adapter is capable of
delivering 1920x1200 resolution. (It would have be fairly old hardware
to not have that capability.)
