Look at the side of the card, there should be a switch to block writing. Make sure this hardware block is set to the right place.

OK,

I am running fedora 17, and it has gnome3.  When I plug in a sdhc card, and I want to be mounted as read write, so that I can
make boot image for my raspberry-pi.  Any idea's of how to do this
