I have got an old laptop running vesa graphics. In this machine GNOME 3 went to fallback mode, which is sort of an hybrid: you have menus in the top panel, a windows list at the bottom, but no desktop. > Besides, running a 3D desktop using remote X (xdmcp) over the network > I do not say it is possible, or if will overload the 100Mbits network Tried Desktop Sharing with that laptop as server and worked fine, but the other way round, with a full GNOME 3 as server, is unusable.
