gtk+-2.16.5: error: unexpected character `\1', expected keyword - e.g. `style'

   Hello Gnome,

Several gtk+-2.16.5 applications produce "error: unexpected character....." message. The message is a result of an attempt to read a raw directory and interpret it as a configuration file (see http://unix.derkeiler.com/Mailing-Lists/FreeBSD/current/2009-04/msg00597.html). This behavior is apparently a result of appending an empty string to the current directory name in gtk_rc_context_parse_one_file in gtkrc.c.

 Igor.
