I'm not sure if this is a gnome issue or not, so pointers welcome. I'm running Ubuntu Hardy. I used to be able to plug in my usb flash and have it automatically mount. How it did that I was never sure. But it worked. Today, when I plug it in I get a pop-up window: Cannot mount volume. Invalid mount option when attempting to mount the volume Can someone explain the process that happens when I plug in the flash drive? What process is showing me that pop-up message? Network manager? Is there any place where it says *what* the invalid option was? Feels like I'm using Windows when I get an error message that doesn't tell me what the problem really is. ;) Where can I find what mount options it was trying to use? syslog only shows: Oct 23 11:12:33 bumby2 kernel: [253794.398386] usb 8-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4 Oct 23 11:12:34 bumby2 kernel: [253795.041991] usb 8-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Oct 23 11:12:34 bumby2 kernel: [253795.042237] scsi6 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices Oct 23 11:12:34 bumby2 kernel: [253795.042442] usb-storage: device found at 4 Oct 23 11:12:34 bumby2 kernel: [253795.042445] usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning Oct 23 11:12:34 bumby2 NetworkManager: <debug> [1224785554.081068] nm_hal_device_added(): New device added (hal udi is '/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_5dc_b047_AA00000000000191').
