is any message logged to ~/.xsession-errors file ?
I can't find such thing as .xsession-errors .


I assume a similar message pops up, when trying to load WindowList after
ShowDesktop ?

Is this issue reproducible for a new test user ?
For a new user , this  issue is  not reproducible
