Locales??

I just upgraded to Gnome 2.20.x and my locale is now all fucked up...I have LANG=en_US.ISO-8859-1 set up, and this worked ok before on all other releases of Gnome, but now Gnomesuddenly insist on setting LANG=nb_NO.ISO-8859-1 for the user I log in with..
How can I make Gnome honour my locale setting!??

Regards,
BTJ
