Hi. I have a simple question: Is it possible to select a file in
nautilus without it automatically being open if my mouse behavior is to
open files on a single click? Right now I'm running GNOME 2.8 (using
CentOS 4.3) and I love the great behavior of my desktop, but I'm
wondering if there's some mouse command or something that I'm not aware
of to select a file without it opening under the premise that my files
open on a single click. Any suggestions? TIA.
Sincerely

Sure! Make sure nothing else is selected (e.g click between two files),
then press and hold Ctrl key while single-clicking on the desired file.
Regards,
Thanks for your reply! My only problem is that I'm using the "list
view" of nautilus and not the "icon" view so I cannot click between two
files. This is why I'd like to find a keyboard/mouse command that
unselects all other files except the one being "clicked" on. Have you
ever used the list view with a lot of files in a small nautilus window?
There's no where to click in the window to unselect files that have been
selected. Do you understand what I mean? But thanks!
