Not really since thats not how it was meant nor written. However one
might read it that way if they were looking to start a fight. 

If you care to comment specifically on anything I said, as opposed to an
inferred "tone of email", I'd be happy reply point-by-point.

ps. I think the preference is badly worded. You should check bugzilla if
it bothers you enough -- this is after all community developed software.
