Openoffice

Downloaded openoffice for OS X and installed. When I use click applet 
for starting openoffice, it starts x11, Gnome 2.6 and everything works 
great.
How do I add openoffice to the applications list so I can run it 
anytime I am within gnome without resorting to the terminal?
