I've edited the size of the image in Inkscape (a fork of Sodipodi (an SVG editor)). This is the result:
users.alwaysaccess.nl/~kuik/gnome2-plain_edit.svg
It looks great, thanks. I should have just used Sodipodi/Inkscape. I was doing something very similar in a text editor.
