They need all the help they can get, since I'm told our developers are generally stoned.[3] Who can help at a bug day? ========================== Virtually anyone. Bug day can be for the very timid, the very quiet, or the very persistent. Mostly what you need is a decent grasp of English, a user-level knowledge of GNOME, and 30 or so minutes of the day. You /don't/ need to have any programming ability, any prior experience with QA, or even a deep understanding of GNOME. On the other hand, if you do have programming ability, it's also a great way to get involved- after a few bug days, you can figure out what needs help in gnome quickly and apply your talents there, like esteemed gnome luminaries aes and shaunm. I'm sold- it sounds like the greatest thing ever[4]- how do I join? =================================================================== Bug day is from 8:30AM EST to 8:30PMEST tomorrow (Thursday)- that's 13:30UTC->01:30UTC. http://timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?day=5&month=2&year=2004&hou r=8&min=30&sec=0&p1=179 Join us in #bugs on irc.gnome.org during that time, and we'll chill and share the bugzilla love. Luis, this was the second greatest bugday announcement[5] of all time, but I still have questions. ================================= Thanks for the compliment. The FAQ is here: http://developer.gnome.org/projects/bugsquad/triage/faq.html See you all tomorrow: Luis All important footnotes: ======================== [1] love, for the purposes of this exercise, being defined as 'bugzilla mail.' It's really a great definition, in my mind, since that makes me like the most loved person on the planet. Which isn't bad, right? It wins. I think there is no UI for that. But a little playing with gconf-editor should do it: you need to set the /apps/metacity/global_keybindings/ run_command_N gconf key (where 1 <= N <= 12) to the key combination, and then the corresponding /apps/metacity/keybinding_commands/command_N gconf key to the command you want to run. This should be a FAQ... -- m -- Mariano Suárez-Alvarez <msuarezalvarez@xxxxxxxxxxxx> --__--__-- Message: 3 Subject: Re: Making global shortcuts in Gnome From: Mariano =?ISO-8859-1?Q?Su=E1rez-Alvarez?= <msuarezalvarez@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: karl@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Cc: Gnome Discuss <gnome-list@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Thu, 05 Feb 2004 02:46:21 -0300 On Wed, 2004-02-04 at 23:57 -0300, Mariano Suárez-Alvarez wrote: > On Tue, 2004-02-03 at 11:14 +0200, Karl Fischer wrote: > > Hello > > I would like to make global shortcuts in Gnome ie: Super Button = > > Terminal is it possible? > > I think there is no UI for that. I I nuked metacity and still doesn't work. I edited all the key back to disabled but the keep on defaulting. Weird. Oh btw isn't it balsa that you can use? Date: Thu, 05 Feb 2004 11:28:04 -0500 Hello, I've googled all over and can't find an answer to this. How can I fix the gnome screen saver so that it uses up the entire screen? I have a laptop that does 1024x768, and if the screensaver kicks in on that, it looks fine. But I also dock my laptop at work, and the external monitor does 1280x1024. When the screensaver kicks in here, it only uses 1024x768 of the the screen, leaving the remaining desktop still visible. I'm running FreeBSD 4.9, but I also had this same problem when I ran RedHat 9 and Fedora. When I use KDE (which I don't even have installed anymore), the screensaver worked fine. Thanks for any input/advice/answer. -DW --__--__-- _______________________________________________ gnome-list mailing list gnome-list@xxxxxxxxx http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-list End of gnome-list Digest _______________________________________________ gnome-list mailing list gnome-list@xxxxxxxxx http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-list
