Package maintainers?

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

I just released the cAos BETA1 earlier today (http://caosity.org/), and was
wondering if anyone here was interested in helping to maintain Gnome in the
distribution. It would require a firm understanding of the RPM build process
and of course fluency with Gnome.

Presently cAos has Gnome-2.4.0 installed, and I would like to start updating
it to 2.4.1 and adding more Gnome components in the next several days which
is why I am posting here and requesting help.

And because I know this will be asked (based on history):

The differentiation between this and other distributions is that this is a
community managed and maintained distribution closely resembling RedHat in
look and feel, but with the community itself leading it.

It is different from Fedora because the goal is not that of a rolling beta,
rather something that will be maintained for 3-5 years. It incorporates a
solid well established core with recent community maintained packages on top
(ie. the glibc implementation is built from RHAS2.1, but it is running recent
Gnome, X, mozilla, apache, openssh, etc...).

Please check out the web site and feel free to join us on email or IRC
(irc.freenode.net, #caos) if you have an interest.
