Note that there are problems with the most recent (CVS and 0.28 release)
versions of intltool and gnumeric, so if you are wanting to use gnumeric
in non-English locales, you need to be a bit trickier. The problems are
not build-time problems -- it just does not translate some things (such
as XML entities) correctly.

Jody has been using an older intltool release (cvs update -D
"2003-10-01") to create the gnumeric tarballs, for example, as a way to
work around this problem.
