Solaris SPARC Gnome 2.0 Logging in delay problem

Hi Gnomes,

I have been installing gnome 2.0 on my Sun Blade 100, 150 and now 1500
desktop machines ever since Sun made it available.

At first, for the first 20 or so installations, everything was fine.
Now, when new users login, they get a blank white screen with an hourglass
cursor for about four minutes and then Gnome starts.

I guess this is something to do with some changes that our overall IT
people have made to the new accounts, but they deny any such changes
and I do not know what to look for. Where should I start looking for
the cause of the problem? This doesn't happen if they login to a
Gnome Linux box or if an older user logs into the same machine.

I'm not sure where to start investigating this somewhat bizarre problem
but I would like to get a fix for it soon as all the new users are
migrating to KDE...!

Regards,

Nick
