The following is just a brainstorming, so ignore anything meaningless.
I'm not sure if replicated volumes can be geo-replicated to a distributed volume.
If it does, then you can setup a geo rep between old replica (Master volume) and new distributed 4-node volume (slave).
Then you just need to ensure that the distributed (slave ) volume is mounted Read-only on your clients.
