In the past there have been problems with using vfs = glusterfs in samba, specifically failed writes when windows clients try to write to samba shares that are accessing gluster directly using that vfs plugin. Have you tried exporting the samba share from a FUSE mount? If that has no write problems, then likely there is an issue or regression with the samba vfs glusterfs plugin.

I don't see any ERROR log entries but just TRACE and DEBUG messages.
Please provide the output of `gluster volume info <VOLNAME>`.
