performance flush-behind dangerous?

Hi,

I was wondering if turning on the performance.flush-behind option is dangerous in terms of data integrity? Reading the documentation it seems to me that I could benefit from that especially for having a lot of small files but I would like to stay on the safe side. So if anyone could tell me if it is safe to turn this option on that would be great...

Regards
ML
