Update:
It seems there is only one such *gfs* file on the data cluster so i assume that this is a temporary file from the rebalance which has not been cleared properly.
Is that right ?
Considering you are using Version 3.2.5, it is true that the file is due to rebalance. If it is not removed automatically, that means, rebalance failed inbetween, and the stale file remained. If your original file 'FILENAME' is intact, deleting FILENAME.gfs<size> should be fine.
