Hi,

I've some results with the following configuration:

When mounting without any special option:
mount -t nfs stor01.local:/homes /home

Gnome session hang immediately after login because of locks (still?)
unsupported:
Jan 7 16:35:03 ubuntu kernel: [ 362.000188] lockd: server
stor01.local not responding, still trying
Jan 7 16:35:03 ubuntu kernel: [ 362.070252] lockd: server
stor01.local not responding, still trying
Jan 7 16:35:03 ubuntu kernel: [ 362.080197] lockd: server
stor01.local not responding, still trying
Jan 7 16:35:03 ubuntu kernel: [ 362.180253] lockd: server
stor01.local not responding, still trying

The workaround I've found an year ago was to use the nolock option
(shouldn't be mentioned at least as note on documentation?):
mount -t nfs -o nolock stor01.local:/homes /home

Without locks support explicitly set in the nfs client, GNOME probably
fallback in a dont-bother-modality, and I can use it, navigate with
Firefox and open OpenOffice documents.

However, on stor01 nfs.log there are intermittent afr_self_heal that
AFAIK shouldn't occur since the 2 bricks have been always online and I
started with empty home directory:

Is this expected?
