GlusterFS in a VM

Hi,

We're currently using GlusterFS and it's NFS server to serve VM images to Citrix XenServer. GlusterFS was set up as replicate, but no replicate machine was added (so, relicate with 1 brick active).

We're about to add the second brick (looking forward to 3.3), and I have a couple of questions.

1. Is GlusterFS/NFS with uCarp failover okay?
2. Would it be better to create a GlusterFS VM that talks to the replicated GlusterFS servers, and have it re-export as NFS?
2a. If so, the hardware GlusterFS servers have a lot of RAM, could I get away with minimal RAM in the Gluster VM?

Gerald
