Hi All: You have probably noticed over the last month we have started rolling out Gluster as a virtual appliance - packaged in several versions of VM - to simplify the deployment and management of the product. To date there are three versions: for VMware, an Amazon Web Services (AWS) AMI, and a RackSpace template for AWS; Xen and KVM versions are on the roadmap. The GlusterFS version in the appliances is functionally identical to the open source version, however since integrated with third party products they are only offered with a commercial subscription.
