If you use a http-server,samba... ex:apache you need ucarp. There is a little blog about it: http://www.misdivision.com/blog/setting-up-a-highly-available-storage-cluste r-using-glusterfs-and-ucarp Ucarp gives you a virt. Ip for your httpd. if the one is down the second with the same IP is still alive and serving. Glusterfs serves the data in ha mode.
