While running a rebalance, what does the metric "layout" represent

?Hello.

So, I've successfully migrated (with a short service outage) my GlusterFS 3.1.1 storage server from Distributed with one server to Distributed-Replicate with two servers, and all is (apparently) running well.

I've invoked:

	gluster volume rebalance pfs-rw1 start

... and the rebalance reported that it started successfully.

While monitoring it, the output of:

	gluster volume rebalance pfs-rw1 status

gives something similar to:

rebalance step 1: layout fix in progress: fixed layout 4865

What does the number (in this case) 4865 represent, and what exactly does "layout" refer to?

Thanks,

James Burnash, Unix Engineering
