UCARP (http://www.ucarp.org/project/ucarp) was mentioned sometimes as
a solution.

Some DNS configuration might work, too - e.g.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Round_robin_DNS

The basic idea would be to create a network endpoint that is always
available - even if there is only one brick left.
