Help configuring Gluster 3.1

I am getting stuck at creating the volume and do not know what to do next.
I follow the instructions to set up a 4 server node trusted pool. Each
node has their ext3 formatted drives on /data and glusterd is running on
each node.

All for are seen with "peer status":
[root at structure glusterfs]# gluster peer status
Number of Peers: 4

Hostname: compute-0-1
Uuid: 7cfa736b-1776-4140-8876-c6df1383e198
State: Peer in Cluster (Connected)

Hostname: compute-0-2
Uuid: cb682f64-3755-4a33-8949-e35fd85c07f6
State: Peer in Cluster (Connected)

Hostname: compute-0-3
Uuid: a6e959b5-a91b-4aed-affb-7d86afaa7f73
State: Peer in Cluster (Connected)

Hostname: compute-0-0
Uuid: b7d2ed0e-b785-4e70-b353-979fb57e9673
State: Peer in Cluster (Connected)

But when I try to create the volume, it fails for an unknown reason (I
don't see anything error related in the logs):

[root at structure glusterfs]# gluster volume create glusterfs transport tcp
compute-0-0:/data compute-0-1:/data compute-0-2:/data compute-0-3:/data
Creation of volume glusterfs has been unsuccessful

Any help would be appreciated.
