Hi, You can aggregate storage bricks and have volumes with plain/mirror/stripe distribute. These volumes are mountable by glusterfs, nfs and cifs If openfile (openfiler?!) storage appliance supports glusterfs/nfs/cifs mounts, it will work seamlessly.
