It appears to me that stat-prefetch has returned stale stat information that caused the OPEN to fail.

Could you please file a bug report at http://bugs.gluster.com/ with the following info:

* client/server version
* client and server volume files
* client logs and server logs. If this is reliably reproducible, can you try to reproduce this with the client
  and server log levels set to TRACE? If it takes a long time to reproduce it and the TRACE log files turn
  out to be too big, you can set it to DEBUG.
* Steps to reproduce it.
