Jos?, I guess my question is why? If these are local drives you can use software raid (which will be MUCH faster) to do raid0 or raid5. If these are not local drives what benefit do you think you are getting by adding an additional layer of replication? As I see it yo will just kill your performance, as it seems to me that network FSs are about 10-25% of the speed of local file systems. Adding the 2nd layer would mean 1-2.5% of the speed of the original. ^C Jos?
