I would advise you to upgrade all your servers and clients to the latest 3.0.x release before adding a new replica. Self-heal works much faster in 3.x.

To upgrade you need to install 3.0.4 on all servers and clients, and restart all GlusterFS processes and remount all the clients. 3.x will work fine with your existing data and volume files, and no migration is needed. Doing an "ls -lR" at / will trigger a self-heal and copy over all the files to the new, 3rd server.
