Gluster web-farm production environment

Hi Josy

GlusterFS version I use:

glusterfs 3.0.3 built on Mar 16 2010 18:10:30
Repository revision: v3.0.2-41-g029062c

on Linux Debian 2.6.26-2-xen-amd64
3 servers have 8 GB RAM (the ones which run apache & plesk).
4GB for the phy server and 4 GB for the rest ( I guess it is enough)

benchmarks:

Writting into gluster disk from xen server

web1:/home# dd if=/dev/zero of=borrame.txt bs=1M count=10
10+0 records in
10+0 records out
10485760 bytes (10 MB) copied, 0.530336 s, 19.8 MB/s

web1:/home# dd if=/dev/zero of=borrame.txt bs=1M count=100
100+0 records in
100+0 records out
104857600 bytes (105 MB) copied, 2.2445 s, 46.7 MB/s

web1:/home# dd if=/dev/zero of=borrame.txt bs=1M count=500
500+0 records in
500+0 records out
524288000 bytes (524 MB) copied, 49.629 s, 10.6 MB/s


web1:/home# time rm borrame.txt

real    0m0.302s
user    0m0.000s
sys     0m0.024s

Writting into phy disk from xen server

web1:/home2# dd if=/dev/zero of=borrame.txt bs=1M count=10
10+0 records in
10+0 records out
10485760 bytes (10 MB) copied, 0.0260199 s, 403 MB/s

web1:/home2# dd if=/dev/zero of=borrame.txt bs=1M count=100
100+0 records in
100+0 records out
104857600 bytes (105 MB) copied, 0.346866 s, 302 MB/s

web1:/home2# dd if=/dev/zero of=borrame.txt bs=1M count=500
500+0 records in
500+0 records out
524288000 bytes (524 MB) copied, 2.12455 s, 247 MB/s

web1:/home2# time rm borrame.txt

real    0m0.016s
user    0m0.000s
sys     0m0.016s
