I'm off topic here, but removing unify at all is bad idea IMHO. It has
its own niche to exist. If you create a lot of small files and your volume
is composed of a really large number of subvolumes, then DHT is OK.
But consider please a setup (like this on my site ;), in which big files
are created on a volume containing relatively small number of subvolumes.
Unify has load balancing, but with DHT you may end with a full subvolume
(as the name-based algorithm decided to put many big files there), while
other subvolumes could be still almost empty. The overhead of unify may be
horrible with 1000 subvolumes, but it is really acceptable with 6.
With regards
Krzysztof
