Endian-ness fix (Was: Re: Mixing 32 and 64 bit bricks)

The reply to this thread is coming after a while. There is a patch
gone in recently which fixes endian compatibility issues, specifically
reported on SPARC and PPC against X86. Thank you all for your
patience.
