Not sure about zone transfers, but we can request the DNS records through the Rackspace DNS API: http://docs.rackspace.com/cdns/api/v1.0/cdns-getting-started/content/List_Domain_Details.html The IP addresses of the VMs do not change often, so a regular fetching of the records would be sufficient. We could even have a Jenkins job that downloads an updated /etc/hosts to a slave. I've already scripted the reboot-vm job to use Rackspace API, the DNS requesting and formatting the results into some file can't be that difficult. Let me know if a /etc/hosts format would do, or if you expect something else.
