It's meant as an example of how a simple encryption translator would work.



I have a performance optimization for
the s390x platform that converts the routine into about 5 or 6 machine
instructions. However, if it's not a critical piece of code or just not
executed a whole lot, then it may not be worth the effort of
incorporating the change.
