That's interesting with pull requests... there's no obvious way to disable them, which is extremely strange. Seems to be a problem with GitHub not understanding (or wanting to believe) there's actually a valid use case for it. Nor understanding it leads to criticism and negative feelings towards a project when PR's are just ignored or closed. :( Just now filled out a "Contact Us" type of request to GitHub to ask if there's a way to achieve this.
