Emmanuel,
   Reading a regular file with data split-brain, file/dir with different gfids are the things that give EIO at the moment.

Avati,
   What action do you think we shall take in this scenario?.

Pranith.

Subject: Self heal fails but file can be accessed

Hi

I do this:
$ ls -l /pfs/manu/netbsd/usr/src/tools/sed/Makefile
-rw-r--r--  1 manu  manu  159 Jun 18  2006 /pfs/manu/netbsd/usr/src/tools/sed/Makefile

And I get that in the client logs:
[2012-06-14 11:50:24.352299] I [afr-common.c:1340:afr_launch_self_heal] 0-pfs-replicate-0: background  meta-data self-heal triggered. path: /manu/netbsd/usr/src/tools/sed/Makefile, reason: lookup detected pending operations
[2012-06-14 11:50:24.353729] E [afr-self-heal-metadata.c:481:afr_sh_metadata_fix] 0-pfs-replicate-0: Unable to self-heal permissions/ownership of '/manu/netbsd/usr/src/tools/sed/Makefile' (possible split-brain). Please fix the file on all backend volumes
[2012-06-14 11:50:24.354470] I [afr-self-heal-metadata.c:56:afr_sh_metadata_done] 0-pfs-replicate-0: split-brain detected, aborting selfheal of /manu/netbsd/usr/src/tools/sed/Makefile
[2012-06-14 11:50:24.354669] E [afr-self-heal-common.c:2156:afr_self_heal_completion_cbk] 0-pfs-replicate-0: background  meta-data self-heal failed on /manu/netbsd/usr/src/tools/sed/Makefile

How should I understand that behavior? Shouldn't I get EIO?
