How to change ping timeout

Hello ,

I'm using glusterfs 3.0 . How can i change the ping-timeout value from 
42 to 10. I'm trying to add "option  ping -timeout 10" in the client vol 
file but i still get 42 seconds as ping timeout.

Please help me
