Documentation related to get transport/socket working.

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi all,
Those who are working on latest code from glusterfs--mainline--3.0, please
note the following changes introduced.

* transports tcp, unix and ib-sdp have been replaced by a single transport -
socket.
* authentication module "ip" has been replaced by module "addr". The addr
authentication module authenticates based on ip-addresses or unix-path
names. Hence server should have,

auth.addr.<brick>.allow [addresses] (address can be ip-address/unix-path)
instead of
 auth.ip.<brick>.allow [ip-addresses].

* transport/socket has the same options as that of tcp except for the
following new/changed options.
  option address-family [inet | inet6 | inet-sdp | unix]
All the options that used to accept an ip-address as value can also accept
unix-paths.

More details can be found in doc/translator-options.txt

regards,
