Hi Daniel,

   --ghost option is given only when you require automount ghost directories 
   to exist all the time. But if you don't specify --ghost you need to increase
   the timeout to 60 or more so that mount points are present till that time.
   But autofs is dynamic mounting, it is used with such a feature so that you
   don't have to hard mount everything all the time. Whenever an application 
   tries access the directory it is automatically mounted. 

   also can you paste the command line mounting where you enabled debugging?
   was it using the glusterfs binary directly or using "mount -t glusterfs"
