clarification regarding the "2 mirrored servers" example on the wiki

Hello,

Concerning the example of "2 mirrored servers" on the Gluster wiki :
http://www.gluster.org/docs/index.php/Automatic_File_Replication_%28Mirror%29_across_Two_Storage_Servers

Does this example suggest :
a) two machines (each running both a server and a client process), or
b) three machines (two running the server process, and a third only the
client), or
c) something else entirely ?

Thank you.
