I am using only the kernel module of glfs2 vs glfs1. I have fuse-2.7.0 already installed. I have no --direct-io-mode specified so it should default to enable Harris ----- Original Message ----- From: "Anand Avati" <avati@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "Harris Landgarten" <harrisl@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Cc: "gluster-devel" <gluster-devel@xxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, August 6, 2007 10:40:14 AM (GMT-0500) America/New_York Subject: Re: patched fuse - fuse-2.7.0-glfs2 Harris, are you using the kernel module of glfs2 patched fuse? also what is the command line argument passed to --direct-io-mode=<value> (if any) ? avati 2007/8/6 , Harris Landgarten < harrisl@xxxxxxxxxxxxx >: In light testing, the new fuse module is about 10-15% slower than the old one (glfs1) Harris ----- Original Message ----- From: "Anand Avati" < avati@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > To: "gluster-devel" < gluster-devel@xxxxxxxxxx > Sent: Monday, August 6, 2007 9:08:25 AM (GMT-0500) America/New_York Subject: patched fuse - fuse-2.7.0-glfs2 Hi all, Here is another version of patched FUSE from the GlusterFS team. http://ftp.zresearch.com/pub/gluster/glusterfs/fuse/fuse-2.7.0-glfs2.tar.gz This version of FUSE, along with patch-432 or above should give improved performance for write operations. In particular 'cp' and 'rsync' should work better for large files (> 1MB). Please note that for NFS re-export compatibility, you will have to run 'glusterfs' with "--direct-io-mode=disable" command line arguments. thanks! avati -- It always takes longer than you expect, even when you take into account Hofstadter's Law. -- Hofstadter's Law _______________________________________________ Gluster-devel mailing list Gluster-devel@xxxxxxxxxx http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/gluster-devel -- It always takes longer than you expect, even when you take into account Hofstadter's Law. -- Hofstadter's Law
