It should work with 65536 files for sure. we have tested with hundreds of
thousands of files in a directory. can you please get a backtrace output of
the core dump?

I'm quite new to glusterfs, running v. 1.2.3. One problem I have
discovered is the server just dying when doing an "ls " in a directory
with more than 65 535 files flat. I suspect this to be a general problem
if the server is accessing this number of files in a total from several
directories. Am I right?

System: Ubuntu 6.06
gcc:    gcc version 4.0.3 (Ubuntu 4.0.3-1ubuntu5)
kernel: vanilla 2.6.17.13
network:        tcp
