For small-ish storage needs (what can be reasonably acheived by disks
attached to the same physical machine), I guess GlusterFS provides
much of the same functionality (and a bit more ;) as ZFS.
 
Personally I think ZFS and GlusterFS make a killer combo. Have your
servers use ZFS as the disk filesystem and run GlusterFS on top (once
we port GlusterFS to Open Solaris ofcourse).
