Now, this is funny.  Apparently, everything worked fine for the master 
branch (I suppose it is the master branch, anyway), but went wrong for 
fetching the _tag_.

> git version 1.5.4.1.122.gaa8d

I do not have that git version, but something is fishy there, so I guess 
it depends on your particular version.
